Description:At a certain point in Shadow Recruit you realize there is no twist at all; the lame attempts at surprise are a morality clause in a standard legal document rather than a who-done-it heart stopper. This thematic continues to play out in Jack Ryan, and if I were inclined to give this movie more seriousness then comparing its meaningless gyrations to gonzo porn, I might really extrapolate upon this point. One particularly disturbing nude sex scene in episode three has almost no connection to the plot, and yet the director left it in, perhaps to make the episode more edgy. Instead of naked bodies, we have uninterested bodies moving around like spy-zombies going through the routine with standardized spy dynamics leading them from place to place.
