10 Mar Place pickled onions in a container and refrigerate for at least one hour, shaking container occasionally to ensure onions marinade evenly.
I love just about anything pickled, but had never tried onions. I was a bit skeptical; typically I am not a fan of raw onion so I made a half recipe for DH, who loves them. Dissolve the sugar in the vinegar, then add to the sliced onions.
Description:Quick pickled onions, plain version. Usually, I hide behind my laptop writing articles for a newspaper or for the blog, but getting in touch with people was really nice for a change. Well, I had some very busy and not so busy weeks recently. In a small saucepan, heat vinegar, water, sugar and salt over medium heat just until the sugar and salt have dissolved. Slice the ginger in thin rounds and mix them well with the onions before you pour over the vinegar.
